What we'll do
Day 0: ARRIVAL
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will meet a Majali guide, and be transferred to the hotel. In the evening there will be a briefing with our managers, who will also make sure you are prepared to trek Mt. Meru for 4 days 3 Nights and checking your gear and giving you breakdown of the trip.
Day 1: Transfer from the hotel to Momella Gate (1500m) - Miriakamba Hut (2514m)
After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel. The journey to Arusha National Park takes about two hours. Once your guide has completed the necessary paperwork at the gate, the trip continues to Momella Gate, the starting point of your hike. On the way you can observe giraffes, zebras and many other animals. Because of the wildlife in the park, from the Momella Gate you will be accompanied by an armed park ranger. The route takes you across the Ngare Nanyuki River, as you then walk along the river and will see buffalo herds, baboons and other animals. Soon the hike will take you through the forest, and after about 2 hours, you will reach the small Mayo Falls, here a meadow is an ideal place for your picnic. After you have relaxed a bit, your hike continues to the "Arched Fig Tree" - a unique tree that spans the way like a gate. After another 1.5 - 2 hours you will reach the Miriakamba Hut. Here you spend your first night on Meru.
Change in Elevation: Momela Gate (1500 m) – Miriakamba (2514 m). Hiking distance: 10 km Hiking time: 4-5 hours
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut (2514 m) – Saddle Hut (3500 m)
After breakfast start your start trekking along the steep path on the forest zone, see various birds and animal along the way. On the way you will view Mount Meru Crater & the Ash Tray. Reach Saddle Hut situated at the alpine desert zone for hot lunch (but this will depend on your pace). After Lunch and some rest, you have an option of acclimatization hike at Little Meru (3,820 m), this is a good hike with some great view of great Meru & the area around & it makes you ready for a night attempt on summit the main Meru Mountain. Early dinner will be served on this day so that you can have enough rest before your midnight summit attempt. Go to sleep as early as possible possibly around 19:00 hrs.
Change in Elevation: Momela Gate (2514 m) – Miriakamba (3500 m). Hiking distance: 13 km Hiking time: 4-5 hours
Day 3: Saddle Hut (3500 m )– Meru Summit Socialist Peak (4,566 m) – Miriakamba (2500m)
Wake up at 00:30 after midnight for tea and biscuit before you start your final push to the summit at 01:30 hrs. This final day of your 3 days Mt Meru trekking you will start by trading on the steep grade path up to Rhino point at (3800 m) then reach Cobra point at (4,350 m). From there the trekking will be on rocky ridge in between the Crater and the inner cliffs of Meru Mountain. Reach the summit during the first rays of sun from the East (4,566 m). During clear days, morning can be the best time to view his Majesty Kilimanjaro Mountain, the total cliffs of the crater drops intensely at almost 1000 feet or more. Spending sometimes at the summit for pictures before return back to Saddle Hut for some rest & afterward continue down to Miriakamba Hut & to Momella gate for check out.
Change in Elevation: Saddle (3500 m) – Meru summit (4566 m) – Miriakamba (2500 m).
Hiking distance: 14 km Hiking time: 8 hours Descend : (3050m)
Day 4: Hotel Checkout & Departure Flight.
Hotel checkout is at 11am. From there a Majali guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight.

- Climbing crew: ● Professional guides, licensed by Tanzania National Park. All our guides are the holder of Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness First Aid certifications. ● Dedicated support crew (assistant guides, camp master, porters, cooks, etc.).
- Entry fees: ● Mt.Meru National Park permits, crew fees, camping/hut fees, rescue fees and Value Added Tax (VAT) and all other fees collected by the Tanzania National Parks Authority.
- Meals: ● All meals on the hike. Prepared by our professional cooks. (vegetarian/gluten-free/halal options are available at no extra cost ) ● Celebration dinner after climb ● All drinks on the hike (coffee, tea, juice, hot chocolate and water).
- Accommodation: ● 2 Nights at a 3 - star hotel with breakfast included ( before and after the climb )● Accommodation the trail is Hut to each Campsite. Please note: All accommodation is on sharing basis (i.e. you will be sharing with your travel companion a twin/double room in the hotel and a tent during the hike. If you travel alone, we will match you with a same-sex adventurer), however a if you prefer a single hotel room or single tent that can be provided at an extra cost. We also offer other amenities for an extra cost such as a heater for your personal tent.

Cancellation and refund
The booking fee ($45.00 p.p. included in the displayed price) is non-refundable if you cancel your booking. If a local cancels a booking or does not show up at the agreed time and place, you receive a full refund of the booking fee.
