Andrew Sitali
Our Chobe Camping Safari departs every week on a Tuesday and Friday. This 3-day safari includes game drives and staying in a wild tented camp! It’s the perfect opportunity to be whisked away into the bush for a short camping excursion. Our local Botswana guides offer excellent knowledge of the area. This is a great way to track the movement of the wildlife in Chobe National Park. Expect excellent photographic opportunities on this safari trip.

Good to know

Good to know

Our safari requires semi-participation, meaning you will assist in setting up camp in Chobe National Park. Even though it’s only 3 days, the Chobe Camping Safari combines the best of the Chobe River and Chobe National Park.

We explore the wildlife of Chobe on a boat and our open 4X4 game drive vehicles. The river drive offers spectacular views of the Chobe River and the grassland flood plains. Especially because large concentrations of animals are often seen on the floodplains!

Meals will consist of typical hearty ‘bush cuisine‘ and a cook will prepare all our meals on open fires. We do cater for special dietary requirements. Please state your diet when making your reservation.

What is included?

  • All camping equipment including spacious walk in tents with a bed roll and bedding (mattress, sheet duvet and pillow).
  • Park fees.
  • All Meals, mineral water and house wine when dinner are supplied. Dinner is a two course meal and consists of hearty ‘Bush Cuisine” cooked on open fires.

What is not included?

  • Visas (if necessary).
  • Items of a personal nature

What to bring

  • Generally, casual comfortable clothing is suitable throughout the year, dull neutral colours are most suitable.
  • Campsites are very sandy so suitable footwear is advised.
  • T shirts.
  • Jeans or safari trousers for the cool evenings and mornings.
  • A fleece or warm sweater for those early morning game drives.
  • A good pair of Sunglasses.
  • Sun block, a hat and insect repellent are essential!
  • Binoculars and a camera with charged batteries - there is no electricity in the bush (we can charge via the cigarette lighter 12V only).
  • A headlamp or torch is vital.
  • If you enjoy a whisky or the like, you are welcome to bring a bottle along to sip by the Campfire.
  • Any personal medication
  • There will be times when you are exposed to the sun so a thin long sleeve shirt may come in handy.

Cancellation and refund

The booking fee ($45.00 p.p. included in the displayed price) is non-refundable if you cancel your booking. If a local cancels a booking or does not show up at the agreed time and place, you receive a full refund of the booking fee.

We give space for creativity. The locals themselves decide and develop the activity idea and design it in a way they find interesting.

Locals get 100% of the price they want. The booking fee is added separately.
