What we'll do

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Kibale forest national park.

Your 5 days Uganda Chimpanzee tracking and Gorilla trekking safari will begin with our guide picking you up from your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe or Entebbe Airport and transfer you to Kibale forest national park in Fort portal. You will check in to your lodge and relax as you enjoy the beautiful views of Kibale forest national park. You can take an optional community walk to explore the surrounding crater lakes in the evening. Travel time: 6-7 hours Dinner and Over night: Chimpanzee forest guesthouse, Reinah tourist hotel, Koi Koi village Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale national park and transfer to Kasese.

You will have an early morning breakfast at 7am and thereafter proceed to Kibale national park arriving before 8am for briefing to prepare for tracking the habituated Chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will join other tourists in groups of 8 and will be led by an armed ranger guide to track the Chimpanzees. A long the way you will see velvet monkeys, white colobus monkeys, birds, old and giant forests and sometimes forest elephants until you find the chimpanzees. Chimpanzee tracking takes 2-6 hours depending on where you meet the Chimpanzees. After tracking, you will return to your lodge for a hot lunch and thereafter check out to transfer to Kasese town. Dinner and Over night: Rwenzori International hotel, Sandton hotel, TJ Global hotel. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park through Queen Elizabeth national park. En-route, enjoy the jaw dropping sceneries, landscapes and also have lunch enroute to Bwindi. Arrive and check in at your lodge and relax for the overnight stay. You can have an optional community visit to the Pygmies and local homesteads. Travel duration: 7-8 hours. Accommodation options: Bakiga Lodge, Agandi Lodge Ruhiija, Bweza Gorilla lodge Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Dinner and overnight stay in Bwindi Impenetrable forest.

Day 4: GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST & TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI.

You will have an early morning breakfast and thereafter be transferred by your driver guide to the park headquarters where park rangers will brief you about the regulations for gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest national park and also you will be divided into a group of 8 visitors. You will be led by a ranger to start trekking of these gentle giants. After you encounter these gentle giants, you are allowed to spend an hour with these magnificent mountain gorillas close up in their natural habitat. Principally hikers will love the trek in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. But overall, this will be a unique and unforgettable experience! After the gorilla trek, you will be given a certificate for succeeding a gorilla trek in Uganda/Bwindi then transfer back to your lodge in Bwindi for lunch. In the late afternoon have a community visit to experience the local village lifestyles and interact with the local community. Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale for an overnight. Accommodation Midrange: Lake Bunyonyi Rock resort, Bunyonyi safaris resort Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

DAY 5: TRANSFER BACK TO ENTEBBE.

After an early morning breakfast, you will then embark on your return journey from this amazing Bwindi gorilla trekking safari driving through Mbarara and on a lucky day you may have a chance to see zebras and impalas through Lake Mburo national park back to your hotel in Entebbe for an overnight or for catching your flight back home. Around Entebbe you can visit the Juacali centre for African crafts and souvenirs if you didn’t get yourself one in Bwindi and Kasese.
