Great Zimbabwe monument is a Unesco World Heritage Site, it’s full of history and provides a perfect day out for visitors in Zimbabwe. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Zimbabwe during the country’s Late Iron Age. Great Zimbabwe served as a royal palace for the Zimbabwean monarch and was used as the seat of political power. One of its most prominent features were the walls, some of which were over five meters high and which were constructed without mortar.

What we'll do

Great Zimbabwe Ruins Day Tour Departing from Bulawayo.

Pick up from your Hotel/Lodge early in the morning.

Drive to Great Zimbabwe Ruins passing through the historical old City of Masvingo.

Refreshments will be served along the way, this include tea/coffee, soft drinks with biscuits or chips.

Arrive in Masvingo around mid morning and go through the registration procedure.

Tour briefing at the starting point and proceed with the tour starting with the Hill Complex. Visit the Hill Complex,our guide will lead the tour, giving you the great history of this Archeological Site.You will visit the King's Residence,the Shrine site and see some of the most amazing caves which are found on the Hill Complex. You will continue with your tour to the Great Enclosure where very tall walls are still standing.More stories to hear about this part of the Ruins.Later you will be taken to the nearby Shona Village where you will meet some local original Shona people staying next to the Ruins. You can take a chance to try their Shona Culture dance.

If time allows, you can visit the Site Museum and after your lunch at the site, you may visit the **Local CraftMarket as you drive back to Bulawayo.

There are some local open Markets along the way and if you wish to purchase anything, please bring small money. We will be passing through villages where we meet small children and if you wish to bring small things like drawing books,pens, pencil or any little things for the children.

If you wish to take photograph of a person along the way, please talk tom your Guide first.
