What we'll do
1939 a Scottish Missionary was tasked to establish a Mission School in the outskirts of Bulawayo.The main idea behind was to eradicate poverty among the local people and the main focus was to teach practical subjects . Edward Paterson successfully established the School from scratch and it end up producing some of the best artists for the Country. The School is now known as Cyrene Mission, our Guide will drive you to this place and go through its history,you will be also able to see some of the art which had been done by the students during the Colonial period.There is a very beautiful decorated Chapel which you will see and witness the beautiful paintings.
Later in the afternoon, you will proceed with your tour and visit the Khami Ruins and explore the Hill Complex, the King Residence, the Portuguese Cross and the Gong. Khami Ruins are very spectacular with an overlooking river and surrounded by balancing rocks. Our Guide will tell you the whole history of Khami Ruins.

Cyrene is an Anglican mission school with an artistic and historic outlook that is completely African; the thatched chapel has its interior and exterior walls covered with colourful murals painted by the students who have used Biblical stories as the source of their inspiration.
