What we'll do

Arrival Day. Meet and greet at Bulawayo Airport.Transfer to N1 Hotel for Overnight.

Day 02 Drive to Mberengwa.
Depart for Mberengwa to arrive in the afternoon.
Visit the local fish market or the tortoise conservation centre at Biri Dam.
Meet the Mberengwa Village elders at the camp fire to learn about their local traditional life. Dinner and overnight at Biri Dam Camp Site.

Day 03 (Romorehoto) 910 M, Hornbill Mountain Hiking.
Today we will wake up very early in the morning to climb the Hornbill Mountain.
Arrive on the summit before sun rise. You will get a chance to take great photos from the summit. Climb down to the Camp for Breakfast.Visit the Hyena cave and proceed to the hotspring and then to our next camp (Baobab Camp Site).

Day 04 (Mbahuru) 930 M, Big house Mountain Hiking. After leisurely breakfast,we will start our climb to the summit of the Big House Mountain. Passby the Clipspringer Cave to see the Bushmen Cave paintings. After refreshments in the Cave,we will proceed to attempt the summit.Arrive on the summit around mid day.Great view from the top.
Trek down using the southern end, proceed to the Black Eagle Camp Site.Dinner and overnight at the camp site.

Day 05 School Visit & Explore the Bird Breeding Cave. On this day, we will trek to the nearby School to meet local students and learn about their day to day life. We will proceed on foot to the nearby Gwamakunguvo mountain where we will visit the bird breeding Cave.
After the Bird Breeding Cave, we will proceed on foot to a nearby Clinic to experience the healthy situation of a very remote area of Mberengwa.You can get a chance to talk to the local healthy workers. Proceed to our finishing point where our back up cars will be waiting to take us to Mataga Lodge where we will stay for our last night in Mberengwa Village. Dinner and overnight at Mataga Lodge.

Day 06 Drive Back to Bulawayo. We will depart Mataga Lodge and drive back to Bulawayo to arrive around mid day.Dinner and overnight at Granite Park Lodge just outside the city centre.

Day 07 Depart Bulawayo for Home. Your driver will pick you from Granite Park Lodge and drive you to Bulawayo Airport for your flight home. End of our 7 Day hiking Adventure

Mberengwa is located in Midlands Province in the southern part of Zimbabwe, 387 kilometers from the capital city, Harare. This area is abundant in minerals such as gold, asbestos, and emeralds. It also experiences high temperatures and drought. Lack of electricity and limited teaching facilities, mean that few children receive a quality education.After the trek, you may choose to remain in the village volunteering to work in farms, helping at local school or any other project of your choice.In return, you will get free accommodation and meals. This trek can be suitable for life challenges for big groups, clubs or students.
